Devghali Beach

Devghali Beach

Devghali Beach is one of the most peaceful stretches of coast in the Kasheli area — a wide, lightly-visited shoreline where the village meets the Arabian Sea. The beach is named for the small rocky devghali (god-cleft) on its northern end, a natural hollow in the cliff that villagers have long considered sacred.

What to expect

  • Soft sand and shallow water at low tide; gentle waves make it suitable for a quiet walk or a picnic.
  • Mostly empty on weekdays — the perfect place for solitude, photography, and watching the sunset over the sea.
  • Coconut and casuarina trees line the back of the beach.

How to reach

Devghali Beach is a short walk from the centre of Kasheli village. From the Kanakaditya temple, follow the road westward toward the coast; the beach is reached within fifteen minutes on foot. Two-wheelers and small cars can reach within a few hundred metres of the sand.

Best visited around sunset.
