Shri Lakshminarayan Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Kasheli

This education society was established in Kasheli to honour the great Marathi writer late Vithal Sitaram Gurjar. Its principal aim is to bring quality secondary education to the rural students of the Konkan.

Vithal Sitaram Gurjar Vidyamandir

The Mandal’s flagship secondary school is run in Gurjar’s birthplace, Kasheli. On 19 September 1987 the school marked his 25th memorial day with a special function. Chief Minister Shri Shankarrao Chavhan and Education Minister Prof. Ram Meghe sent congratulatory messages; Swami Gagangiri Maharaj conveyed his blessings. A performance of Ram Ganesh Gadkari’s play Ekach Pyala was staged the same evening to raise funds for the school.
