Kashelikars abroad

Although Kasheli is a small village, several of its sons have settled overseas for study and work. The 1987 V.S. Gurjar Vidyamandir Smaranika lists the following individuals working abroad at the time of publication.

Shri Madhusudan Balaji Kulkarni — England

Born in Kasheli, with his primary schooling there. He attended Hind Vidyalaya High School and completed his B.Sc. in Mumbai before moving to England. While working there as a chemist he won the Carbide scholarship and earned a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Birmingham. He currently works as an engineer in England and has settled there.

Shri Ashok Vitthal Kulkarni — United States of America

Born and educated entirely in Mumbai. After qualifying as an architect from the J.J. School of Arts he moved to the United States, where he works as an architect.

Shri Hemant Vitthal Kulkarni — United States of America

Born and educated in Mumbai. After qualifying as an architect from the J.J. School of Fine Arts he moved to the United States.

Shri Jayant Vitthal Kulkarni — United States of America

Born and educated in Mumbai. After qualifying as an architect from the J.J. School of Fine Arts he moved to the United States of America.

Shri Manohar (“Bandu”) Bhagvant Palsule — West Germany

  • Born in Kasheli in 1939. Primary schooling in Kasheli; high school at Hind Vidyalaya; college up to Intermediate at Gogate College, Ratnagiri. He completed his engineering at Sangli and V.J.T.I., Mumbai, earning both a B.E. (Electrical) and a B.E. (Mechanical). He secured a job in West Germany and moved there, where he picked up specialisations in plastic technology, pneumatic machines, telephone industries and electronics while working. The ₹ 3 lakh telephone-dial testing machine he designed was awarded a German patent. For the past 50 years* he has worked as an engineer at an electronics company in Germany.

Shri Ninad Sadashiv Palsule — United States of America

  • Born in Ratnagiri. Primary schooling in Kasheli shala number 3 &1; high school at Vitthal Sitaram Gurjar vidyamandir, kasheli; Diploma in Electrical Engineering from Goverment Polytechnic Ratnagiri. He completed his engineering at D.Y. Patil college of engineering, Kolhapur, earning B.E. (Electrical). Later he completed Master of Science in computer science and engineering from Oregon health and science university in portland, oregon, USA. In India he worked as electronics engineer for ICA, Field Engineer for Siemens and Software engineer for Informix. For the past 22 years* he has worked as an engineer at an software company in United States of America.
