Shri Lakshmi-Narayan Mandir
Shri Lakshmi-Narayan Mandir
The Lakshmi-Narayan Mandir is one of the principal village temples of Kasheli, dedicated jointly to Lord Vishnu (Narayan) and his consort Mahalakshmi. The temple is at the heart of Kasheli’s religious and social life, hosting many of the village’s annual observances and educational and social initiatives.
Annual festivals
- Ramnavami / Chaitra Navratri — the nine-day spring observance leading up to Ramnavami is celebrated with kirtan, devotional readings and a community meal.
- Kartik Pournima — the full-moon festival in the month of Kartik is marked with a special abhishek, evening lamps and a programme of bhajan.
- Kasheli Khele — the traditional village game/folk gathering held at the temple precincts.
Civic role
The Shri Lakshmi-Narayan Shikshan Prasarak Mandal — the educational trust that grew up around this temple — has supported schools, the V.S. Gurjar Vidyamandir, and many of the village’s public works over the years.
For visiting hours and festival dates, ask at the temple or contact the trust directly.
