Ratnagiri District Central Co-operative Bank — Kasheli Branch

The district bank operates a branch in the village, providing farmer credit, small-industry credit and irrigation-pump loans.

The co-operative roof-tile factory

India’s first roof-tile (kaul) factory run on co-operative principles has been operating successfully in the area for over 27 years; a new branch was nearing launch at Vatul.

Integrated Rural Development Programme

Bank-routed credit and subsidies under the IRDP support Kasheli’s poorer farmers and small enterprises — oxen, buffaloes, cows and goats; electric pumps for farmer groups; bullock-carts, sewing machines, poultry and goat keeping, fish vending, stationery and grocery shops, paan stalls and gobar-gas plants.
